Verified Reviewer |After spending numerous phone calls...
After spending numerous phone calls with assurant and t mobile I will be filing complaints with consumer report and consumer affairs we took out ins on our cell phones and paid for many years. my cell phone battery doesnt keep a charge and I filed a claim was told it was covered only to be told I cant just replace the battery I have to turn in my phone also why ?
Why cant I just get a replacement battery its a scam Ive been paying ins for coverage for my phone and find it unnecessary to turn in my phone also why ? Why cant I just get a new replacement battery?
And why would I want to trade in my phone for a refurbished one ? I will be canceling my insurance and I will no longer use T mobile or assurant ins for my needs .im hoping somebody can resolve this issue and answer me as to why I just cant get a battery

Scheduled repair was 8-5 - too long
Throughout the day arrival time kept letting postponed.
After 6 pm, no call or anything!!!
I called, was told by bot technician would call me shortly. He did not.

Then, much later, I received a message there was no open order. No way to contact ANYONE and case was closed.

Verified Reviewer |Claim denied after Police confirmed phone was stolen.
- - -Theft & Loss denied after a $250 deductible; Find My iPhone not enabled.
- - -Police confirmed theft; iMessage location near a Dollar Store before shutdown.
I am filing a formal complaint regarding the denial of my AppleCare+ Theft & Loss claim. After paying the $250 deductible, I was told my claim was denied solely because Find My iPhone was not enabled at the time of theft. This is an unreasonable loophole. My phone was stolen, confirmed by a police report. Law enforcement made clear they would not recover the device, as it was classified as a misdemeanor theft. Regardless, Apple has the ability to permanently disable the IMEI, which makes the physical location of the phone irrelevant. At the time of the theft, my wife was actively tracking the device through Apple's own location sharing via iMessage. We traced it to a nearby Dollar Store before the thief shut it off. Apple clearly had location data, yet the claim was denied on a technicality designed to block valid claims.
I paid premiums for Theft & Loss coverage, only to discover that it fails in exactly the situation it is supposed to protect against. T-Mobile ultimately stepped in and wrote off the phone, but I should never have been forced to pay a deductible and months of premiums for coverage that did not deliver.
After trying to recover the money spent on this useless coverage, I was told that I am banned for life for receiving and sending Apple Cash, and I could not be told why. I will be filing a complaint with my state insurance commissioner and consumer protection agencies for deceptive practices.
- Denied claim even though police proved it to be stolen on camera

Verified ReviewerT-mobile iPhone review.
- - Paid $18/month for Assurant insurance for 6 years, totaling $1,296.
- - Deductible is $250 for an old phone, which could be bought for $274.99.
Assurant is the biggest ripoff! On top of paying high insurance for my iPhone through Assurant for the past 6 years at $18 a month, which totals $1,296.00, they want to charge me $250 as a deductible for an old phone that I could now buy for $274.99 retail!
Why do I pay for Assurant insurance? The deductible is a joke!
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Not worth paying insurance.
Horrible response and result
- - Three service calls; one canceled at appointment.
- - Washer still not fixed after a month and a half.
- - Assurant says tomorrow; company says two weeks.
Im so angry and frustrated! After three different service calls, one service provider canceled at the time of appointment, and not being able to get a human, my 1 year old washer is still not fixed after a month and a half!! Assurant told me a new technician would be here tomorrow but that company said no it will be another 2 weeks

- - Tried for 2 days to reach someone.
- - Automated service doesn't work when pushing numbers.
- - Please provide a direct phone number.
No it has not. I’m so frustrated by the lack of integrity did some businesses have on refunding money.
I’ll take it outside and put it back fast. It’s not that hard to send a check FedEx or UPS.

- - Submitted renters insurance claim with receipts and police report.
- - Denied claim citing fake Louis Vuitton receipt; LV confirmed client.
I submited a renters insurance claim with all my receipts and police report. I barly got any communication from them.
The investigator was rude and accused me of things without any basis as if I wasnt the victim but the perpetrator. my adjustr Mr. Ronald Gutierrez denied my claim based on claiming that one of my receipts from Louis Vuitton was fake and I wasnt a client of the company. When tried to reach out to him he was rude and hung up the phone one me.
I called Louis Vuitton and they did confirmed I was a client of many years and event emailed me a reprint of the receipt I sent Assurant. They are crooks and the investigator and adjuster work together to not pay claims under false accusations.

All Talk NO SERVICE
- - They paid $1828.27 and have tried to repair their ice machine since Thanksgiving.
- - No shows; supervisor Ann escalated repair, but nothing happened.
My elderly parents have been trying to get service to repair their ice machine since Thanksgiving. After no shows and escalated repair by supervisor Ann still nothing.
I know it’s just and ice machine but since my dad’s stroke he loves his ice. Since they paid $1828.27 it doesn’t sound like an unreasonable request.
Insurance Expert Talks
Their claims for any vehicle service warranty thru Carchex
- - Assurant, Carchex's claims provider, gave unhelpful service, paid little for parts, and wouldn't arrange a rental until diagnosis/invoice.
6/26/18 If you see Assurant listed on any policy documentation as the clams or insurance company who will be paying or covering you on behalf of anything, RUN!! I am not kidding, I am not exaggerating, I’m being dead serious!
You have been warned. If you choose to ignore the warning then I have zero empathy for you and you deserve to be cheated out of your money! I purchased a vehicle protection plan from Carchex and they used Assurant Solutions Companies as their claims provider to pay on behalf of any claim related issues and it has been a complete nightmare since the very first time I have had to call them! They are completely unhelpful, unapologetic, have no decency, and do not care one bit about any issues that you have and only offer of you fake, phony, generic empathy that is force-fed to them in whatever training exercises they are required to take from upper management.
They are completely unhelpful, unapologetic, have no decency, and do not care one bit about any issues that you have and only offer of you fake, phony, generic empathy that is force-fed to them in whatever training exercises they are required to take from upper management. Not to mention the fact that they rip you off and only pay very small minuscule amount of any parts that you may need for your vehicle. They also like to only use used parts that come from places like pull apart scrapyards that come off of vehicles and the parts are in like new condition and often times say used and then they tell you to refer to your contract and tell you that it is written in there. Which is fine and in some cases.
In this particular case, they found a $450 turbo charger for my F-150 that I took to the Ford dealer to have replaced. They only paid that amount of money because that is what they claim they found the price for at some scrap yard in Virginia. Now, I reside in upstate New York. When we called to ask them why they only paid that amount of money for a part that lists for $1,150 (Ford price) they told me, “that is what they found the part for and that is all they were going to pay for, the rest of the monies were my responsibility to pay” And when the service manager asked them on the phone why they didn’t offer to ship that part to us or tell us about that part for that price they then said and when the service manager asked them on the phone why they didn’t offer to ship that part to us or tell us about that part for that price they then said, “You disn’t ask, amd we don’t provide information on shipping, nor do we ship parts” and we also said to them, “Then how were we supposed to get a part that YOU claim you found for $450 at a place YOU found, yet refuse to tell us where the place was, or advise us how to get it shipped to this dealership?” the only thing the person from the claims department said had to say another one of their phony *** watered down apologies, “I apologize for that” The truck was finally fixed I paid the bill and walked out the door.
Today, (the very next day) I get in my truck and drive it to head to work and something goes wrong with it. I don’t know what it is but thankfully I was not far from the Ford dealer who repaired it and was able to limp it right back up to the service department. They lifted the hood and plugged in to the computer and then test drove it and we’re trying to diagnose what could have gone wrong but ran out of time because it was getting close to closing time. They have to keep it overnight and try to diagnose what happened.

Here I go again, I call Claims Dept to ask them to set up a rental car for me so I have reliable transportation to be able to get to my 2 different jobs only for them to tell me on the phone, “I apologize but we will not be able to do that at this time until the Ford dealership has sent us in a diagnosis and invoice with part numbers and prices listed on what could be wrong with the vehicle” to which I said, “Whatever is wrong with the vehicle could be in relation to what they just had repaired on the truck, maybe something happened with whatever they just fixed.
I’m not asking you to pay for a rental car, I’m just asking you to call and set up a reservation for me to go pick the rental car up and I will pay for it and we will worry about reimbursement later“ and again the claims person said, “ I apologize but at this time we will not be able to do that until they submit an invoice with part numbers and prices on what is wrong with the vehicle” I then went berserk and said, “YOU MEAN TO TELL ME I PAID ALMOST $4,000.00 FOR A POLICY THAT YOU ARE TELLING ME YOU REFUSE TO HELP ME EVEN GET A DAMN RENTAL CAR RESERVED, NOT PAID FOR, JUST FREAKIN’ RESERVED SO IT’S EASIER FOR ME TO JUST STOP IN, SHOW ID AND CREDIT CARD THEN WALK OUT?” and then the claims person went on to tell me how I didn’t buy the policy from them, I bought the policy from Carchex and that I needed to resort to my policy booklet to read how the policy worked...blah blah blah just completely being condescending and making me feel like a complete piece of crap and making my already bad day even that more worse! Showing me no empathy whatsoever just refusing to help me in anyway, shape, or form!
Customer service sucks!
- - Washer repaired twice by an Assurant technician; third visit damaged door trim removing the drum.
We have a Samsung washer that has been repaired twice before by an Assurant technician, and when calling back to have it repaired a 3rd time, I have been on hold 45+ minutes waiting to speak to someone. The last time they came to our house, they sent ONE technician who completely destroyed the trim around the door to the laundry room trying to get the drum out of the washing machine, and *I* the homeowner had to assist the technician in getting the drum back inside the machine.
I wish NFM would discontinue their services with Assurant. They are a complete pain in the rear to work with!
Incompetence raised to a new level.
- - Paid a $175 deductible; replacement phone was recalled with no explanation.
- - Customer service could not explain and said to contact corporate HQ.
As many of other people I also share my opinion on this co. what a joke amazing that they are still in business.
This is my first claim on a cell phone.
I filled a claim all went smooth got approved. paid the deductible $175.00, then when i went to track my replacement phone i was shocked. I found that the package had been recalled. no reason was given.
I called the customer service dept. and after doing some research they advised me that they did not know what was going on. was told that they would not be sending a replacement phone and that i had to write the corporate HQ. and find out what the issue was.
In the mean time no phone either i buy another one o go without. Until they receive the letter and respond when ever that might be.
I certainly do not recommend this co. to anyone and will be cancelling the so called protection they offer.
It is just sad that a reputable company such as T mobile has to associate themselves with such a *** bag insurance company. it is also bad for T mobile. not good for business great way for t mobile to loose customers.

The Premium 360 plan covers battery replacement. The Basic and Standard plans do not.
If covered, their terms state battery replacement only if there is a designated repair center near you to visit. Otherwise they will replace the phone. I don’t do insurance and have ATT and it took 10 minutes to find this information. Their terms also list a link to authorized repair centers for in-person work.
If you would have read the terms and accessed the link beforehand, you would have seen no in-person repair for you. That would have confirmed phone replacement was only going to ever be your option.
